United States reported 10.7 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.88 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 30,549 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 24,611 were men suicides and 5,938 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.6 per 100,000 men and for women 4.1 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In United States suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 19,033 homicides in United States, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.6 suicides.
