In March, vehicle registrations in United States grew by 8.92% with respect to March of 1987. In total, 1,505,000 cars were registered and 15,649,700 new cars were sold in the last twelve months, 2.63% less than the year before.

- Commercial vehicles sold: 506,500, 11.39% more than in March of 1987.
- Passenger cars regitrations: 998,500, which represents a figure of 7.71% more than in March of 1987.
