In February, vehicle registrations in United States grew by 13.97% with respect to February of 1987. In total, 1,308,800 cars were registered and 15,526,400 new cars were sold in the last twelve months, 2.89% less than the year before.

- Commercial vehicles sold: 428,300, 14.52% more than in February of 1987.
- Passenger cars regitrations: 880,500, which represents a figure of 13.7% more than in February of 1987.
