Suicides grow in Israel

By 2005, suicides in Israel increased by 14 people to at 425 suicides In Israel, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Israel there were 6.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.34 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 425 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 304 were men suicides and 121 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.9 per 100,000 men and for women 3.5 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Israel suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 169 homicides in Israel, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.5 suicides.
