<< 2021Merchandise Exports 2022
Exports are sales of goods made by a country to other countries. Exports are added within the balance of trade; when they are greater than imports the balance of trade is positive, i.e., there is trade surplus.
Exports are important because they are a source of foreign currency, which in turn allows a country to manage its debt and buy imports, and exports increase per capita income. The fact that goods are produced for export increases their production and this has a positive effect on employment.
