United States had 13 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.78 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 41,060 recorded suicide cases in 2013, 31,991 were men suicides and 9,069 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.6 per 100,000 men and for women 5.6 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In United States suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 14,319 homicides in United States, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.9 suicides.
