In 2015 occurred 1,532 suicides in Türkiye. This year, 85 fewer people committed suicide than in 2014. In 2015, on average 4 Turks committed suicide every day.

Türkiye had 1.93 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.51 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Türkiye has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 1,532 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 1,135 were men suicides and 397 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 2.87 per 100,000 men and for women 0.99 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Türkiye. However, in Türkiye in 2015 there were there were 2,235 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.5 homicides per suicide.
