Suicides fell in Slovenia

By 2005, suicides in Slovenia increased by 9 people to at 503 suicides In Slovenia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Slovenia there were 25.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10.34 suicides per 100,000 people.

Slovenia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 503 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 391 were men suicides and 112 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 39.9 per 100,000 men and for women 11 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Slovenia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 20 homicides in Slovenia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 25.2 suicides.
