Mongolia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 798 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 669 were men suicides and 129 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 52.58 per 100,000 men and for women 10.02 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Mongolia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 398 homicides in Mongolia, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2 suicides.
