There are 4 suicides per day in Zimbabwe

In 2005 occurred 1,466 suicides in Zimbabwe. This year, 14 fewer people committed suicide than in 2004. In 2005, on average 4 Zimbabweans committed suicide every day.

Zimbabwe had 12.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.34 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 1,466 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 1,116 were men suicides and 350 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 19.34 per 100,000 men and for women 5.43 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Zimbabwe suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,350 homicides in Zimbabwe, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.1 suicides.
