In 2015 around 1,641 suicides occurred in Zimbabwe, 6 more than in 2014. In 2015, on average 4 Zimbabweans committed suicide every day.

Zimbabwe reported 11.71 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.51 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 1,641 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 1,202 were men suicides and 439 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.06 per 100,000 men and for women 5.85 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Zimbabwe suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 981 homicides in Zimbabwe, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.7 suicides.
