In 2005 around 1,622 suicides occurred in Uzbekistan, 3 more than in 2004. In 2005, on average 4 Uzbeks committed suicide every day.

Uzbekistan reported 6.23 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.34 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 1,622 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 1,230 were men suicides and 391 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 9.42 per 100,000 men and for women 2.99 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Uzbekistan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 910 homicides in Uzbekistan, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.8 suicides.
