There are 24 suicides per day in Thailand

By 2005, suicides in Thailand increased by 175 people to at 8,619 suicides In 2005, on average 24 Thai committed suicide every day.

In Thailand there were 13.18 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.34 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 8,619 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 5,894 were men suicides and 2,724 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.2 per 100,000 men and for women 8.15 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Thailand suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 4,806 homicides in Thailand, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.8 suicides.
