Spain had 7.5 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.42 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 3,539 recorded suicide cases in 2018, 2,619 were men suicides and 920 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 11.31 per 100,000 men and for women 3.83 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Spain suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 289 homicides in Spain, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 12.2 suicides.
