By 2024, suicides in Spain increased by 165 people to at 3,953 suicides In 2024, on average 11 Spaniards committed suicide every day.

In Spain there were 8.05 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.16 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 3,953 recorded suicide cases in 2024, 2,902 were men suicides and 1,051 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.05 per 100,000 men and for women 4.2 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Spain suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 331 homicides in Spain, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 11.9 suicides.
