Suicides fell in Singapore

By 2007, suicides in Singapore increased by 51 people to at 487 suicides In Singapore, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Singapore there were 10.61 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 487 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 283 were men suicides and 204 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 12.05 per 100,000 men and for women 9.11 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Singapore suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 18 homicides in Singapore, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 27.1 suicides.
