In 2004 occurred 672 suicides in Saudi Arabia. This year, 15 more people committed suicide than in 2003. In Saudi Arabia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Saudi Arabia had 2.98 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.53 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Saudi Arabia, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 672 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 513 were men suicides and 159 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 3.8 per 100,000 men and for women 1.57 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Saudi Arabia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 301 homicides in Saudi Arabia, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.2 suicides.
