Netherlands had 11.22 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.41 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 1,957 recorded suicide cases in 2016, 1,333 were men suicides and 624 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.31 per 100,000 men and for women 7.19 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Netherlands suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 94 homicides in Netherlands, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 20.8 suicides.
