Suicides grow in Mauritius

By 2005, suicides in Mauritius increased by 4 people to at 111 suicides

In Mauritius there were 9.05 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.34 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 111 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 86 were men suicides and 25 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.1 per 100,000 men and for women 4.03 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Mauritius suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death.
