Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate

In 2005 around 4,706 suicides occurred in Kazakhstan, 520 less than in 2004. In 2005, on average 13 Kazakhs committed suicide every day.

Kazakhstan reported 30.92 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10.34 suicides per 100,000 people.

Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 4,706 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 3,942 were men suicides and 764 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 54.77 per 100,000 men and for women 9.61 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kazakhstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 2,091 homicides in Kazakhstan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.3 suicides.
