There are 20 suicides per day in Indonesia

In 2005 around 7,257 suicides occurred in Indonesia, 63 more than in 2004. In 2005, on average 20 Indonesians committed suicide every day.

Indonesia reported 3.28 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.34 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Indonesia, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 7,257 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 5,232 were men suicides and 2,025 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 4.54 per 100,000 men and for women 1.78 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Indonesia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,419 homicides in Indonesia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 5.1 suicides.
