India is a country with a high rate of suicide.
Of the 206,278 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 116,232 were men suicides and 90,046 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.94 per 100,000 men and for women 14.03 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In India suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 44,373 homicides in India, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 4.6 suicides.
