By 2018, suicides in Germany increased by 183 people to at 9,479 suicides In 2018, on average 26 Germans committed suicide every day.

In Germany there were 11.39 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.42 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 9,479 recorded suicide cases in 2018, 7,180 were men suicides and 2,299 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.46 per 100,000 men and for women 5.47 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 788 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 12 suicides.
