Suicides fell in Georgia

By 2023, suicides in Georgia increased by 60 people to at 207 suicides

In Georgia there were 5.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 9.11 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 207 recorded suicide cases in 2023, 173 were men suicides and 34 were women. Men have a very high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 9.75 per 100,000 men and for women 1.77 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Georgia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 77 homicides in Georgia, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.7 suicides.
