In 2023 occurred 10,426 suicides in Germany. This year, 202 more people committed suicide than in 2022. In 2023, on average 29 Germans committed suicide every day.

Germany had 12.49 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.14 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 10,426 recorded suicide cases in 2023, 7,579 were men suicides and 2,847 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.41 per 100,000 men and for women 6.73 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 770 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 13.5 suicides.
