There are 28 suicides per day in Germany

In 2005 around 10,267 suicides occurred in Germany, 465 less than in 2004. In 2005, on average 28 Germans committed suicide every day.

Germany reported 12.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.34 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 10,267 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 7,525 were men suicides and 2,742 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.7 per 100,000 men and for women 6.5 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,044 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 9.8 suicides.
