There are 29 suicides per day in Germany

In 2004 occurred 10,732 suicides in Germany. This year, 418 fewer people committed suicide than in 2003. In 2004, on average 29 Germans committed suicide every day.

Germany had 13 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.53 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 10,732 recorded suicide cases in 2004, 7,939 were men suicides and 2,793 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 19.7 per 100,000 men and for women 6.6 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,112 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 9.7 suicides.
