Number of suicides falls in Dominican Republic

In 2007 occurred 563 suicides in Dominican Republic. This year, 59 fewer people committed suicide than in 2006. In Dominican Republic, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Dominican Republic. However, in Dominican Republic in 2007 there were there were 2,111 homicides, many more than suicides. There were 3.7 homicides per suicide.
