Cuba - Intentional self-harm

By 2005, suicides in Cuba increased by 91 people to at 1,460 suicides In 2005, on average 4 Cubans committed suicide every day.

In Cuba there were 12.98 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.34 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 1,460 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 1,101 were men suicides and 359 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 19.58 per 100,000 men and for women 6.38 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cuba suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 684 homicides in Cuba, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.1 suicides.
