Suicides fell in Croatia

By 2019, suicides in Croatia increased by 98 people to at 584 suicides In Croatia, on average, at least one suicide happens every day.

In Croatia there were 14.39 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.41 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 584 recorded suicide cases in 2019, 463 were men suicides and 121 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 23.48 per 100,000 men and for women 5.8 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Croatia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 33 homicides in Croatia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 17.7 suicides.
