Since October 2019, the national minimum wage in Argentina remained fixed at €270.3 per month, that is 3,244 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Argentinian pesos, which is the official currency in Argentina, we can see that, this year, it was 16,875 Argentinian pesos and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 1,250 Argentinian pesos per month from the previous year, 8%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2019 which was 47.7%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Argentina is in 58 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 116 of the list.
