Since September 2016, the national minimum wage in Argentina remained fixed at €452.6 per month, that is 5,431 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Argentinian pesos, which is the official currency in Argentina, we can see that, this year, it was 7,560 Argentinian pesos and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 750 Argentinian pesos per month from the previous year, 11.01%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2016 which was 14.3%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Argentina is in 33 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 114 of the list.
