By 2007, suicides in Zimbabwe increased by 35 people to at 1,513 suicides In 2007, on average 4 Zimbabweans committed suicide every day.

In Zimbabwe there were 12.57 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 1,513 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 1,134 were men suicides and 379 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 19.31 per 100,000 men and for women 5.77 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Zimbabwe suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,072 homicides in Zimbabwe, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.4 suicides.
