Of the 1,216 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 1,004 were men suicides and 212 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 7.3 per 100,000 men and for women 1.54 per 100,000 female.
Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Venezuela. However, in Venezuela in 2007 there were there were 13,156 homicides, many more than suicides. There were 10.8 homicides per suicide.
