In Uganda there were 7.31 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.34 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 1,886 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 1,328 were men suicides and 558 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 9.69 per 100,000 men and for women 3.92 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Uganda. However, in Uganda in 2005 there were there were 2,492 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.3 homicides per suicide.
