There are 26 suicides per day in Thailand

In 2007 around 9,503 suicides occurred in Thailand, 504 more than in 2006. In 2007, on average 26 Thai committed suicide every day.

Thailand reported 14.36 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 9,503 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 6,603 were men suicides and 2,899 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.1 per 100,000 men and for women 8.53 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Thailand suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 4,435 homicides in Thailand, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.1 suicides.
