Tanzania - Intentional self-harm

By 2007, suicides in Tanzania increased by 90 people to at 2,785 suicides In 2007, on average 8 Tanzanians committed suicide every day.

In Tanzania there were 7.05 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 2,785 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 2,072 were men suicides and 713 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.07 per 100,000 men and for women 3.37 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Tanzania. However, in Tanzania in 2007 there were there were 2,926 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.1 homicides per suicide.
