There are 10 suicides per day in Sudan

In 2007 occurred 3,749 suicides in Sudan. This year, 90 more people committed suicide than in 2006. In 2007, on average 10 Sudanese committed suicide every day.

Sudan had 10.09 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 3,749 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 2,718 were men suicides and 1,031 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.4 per 100,000 men and for women 6.62 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Sudan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,511 homicides in Sudan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.5 suicides.
