There are 21 suicides per day in Indonesia

In 2007 occurred 7,583 suicides in Indonesia. This year, 154 more people committed suicide than in 2006. In 2007, on average 21 Indonesians committed suicide every day.

Indonesia had 3.33 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Indonesia, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 7,583 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 5,485 were men suicides and 2,098 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 4.64 per 100,000 men and for women 1.8 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Indonesia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,419 homicides in Indonesia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 5.3 suicides.
