There are 26 suicides per day in Germany

In 2007 occurred 9,402 suicides in Germany. This year, 372 fewer people committed suicide than in 2006. In 2007, on average 26 Germans committed suicide every day.

Germany had 11.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 9,402 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 7,009 were men suicides and 2,393 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.4 per 100,000 men and for women 5.7 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Germany suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 888 homicides in Germany, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 10.6 suicides.
