Of the 792 recorded suicide cases in 2016, 622 were men suicides and 170 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 22.57 per 100,000 men and for women 6.13 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Finland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 74 homicides in Finland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 10.7 suicides.
