In the Czech Republic there were 12.51 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.41 suicides per 100,000 people.
Of the 1,348 recorded suicide cases in 2016, 1,088 were men suicides and 260 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.49 per 100,000 men and for women 4.8 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In the Czech Republic suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 65 homicides in the Czech Republic, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 20.7 suicides.
