In 2005 occurred 1,539 suicides in Cambodia. This year, 153 fewer people committed suicide than in 2004. In 2005, on average 4 Cambodians committed suicide every day.

Of the 1,539 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 939 were men suicides and 600 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.37 per 100,000 men and for women 8.94 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cambodia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 448 homicides in Cambodia, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.4 suicides.
