Of the 2,787 recorded suicide cases in 2015, 2,139 were men suicides and 647 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 18.86 per 100,000 men and for women 5.67 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Cameroon suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 861 homicides in Cameroon, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 3.2 suicides.
