Number of suicides falls in Botswana

In 2005 occurred 209 suicides in Botswana. This year, 6 fewer people committed suicide than in 2004.

Botswana had 11.59 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.34 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 209 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 157 were men suicides and 52 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.99 per 100,000 men and for women 5.32 per 100,000 female.
