Bolivia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 2,047 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 1,314 were men suicides and 733 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 26.83 per 100,000 men and for women 15.23 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Bolivia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 770 homicides in Bolivia, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.7 suicides.
