Number of suicides unchanged in Bhutan

In 2005 occurred 80 suicides in Bhutan, the same people committed suicide than in 2004.

Bhutan had 12.77 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.34 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 80 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 50 were men suicides and 30 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 14.15 per 100,000 men and for women 9.59 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Bhutan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 11 homicides in Bhutan, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 7.3 suicides.
