There are 6 suicides per day in Uganda

In 2007 around 2,103 suicides occurred in Uganda, 129 more than in 2006. In 2007, on average 6 Ugandans committed suicide every day.

Uganda reported 7.62 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 2,103 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 1,471 were men suicides and 631 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.11 per 100,000 men and for women 4.19 per 100,000 female.

Suicide is a very important cause of death in the world and also in Uganda. However, in Uganda in 2007 there were there were 2,645 homicides, then, homicides are more common than suicides. There were 1.3 homicides per suicide.
