Suicides fell in Timor-Leste

By 2007, suicides in Timor-Leste increased by 3 people to at 66 suicides

In Timor-Leste there were 6.33 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 66 recorded suicide cases in 2007, 44 were men suicides and 22 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.37 per 100,000 men and for women 4.39 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Timor-Leste suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 62 homicides in Timor-Leste, there are more suicides than homicides. For every homicide there were 1.1 suicides.
