By 2005, suicides in Mauritania remained at 160 suicides

In Mauritania there were 5.26 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10.34 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 160 recorded suicide cases in 2005, 113 were men suicides and 48 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 7.53 per 100,000 men and for women 3.15 per 100,000 female.
